NCCER Safety Training

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a not-for-profit education foundation created to help address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry and develop industry driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials. NCCER is recognized by the industry as the training, assessment, certification and career development standard for the construction, maintenance and pipeline industries.

Field Safety – This 47 hour course is designed to help prevent accidents, and provide participants with the rules and safeguards needed to work safely on the job site. Safety must be incorporated into all phases of the job and involves all employees from every-level to management. This course will cover the following topics: Introduction to Safety, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Work Zone Safety, Electrical and High Voltage Hazards, Fire Protection and Prevention, Hand and Power Tool Safety, Welding Safety, Fall Protection, Steel Erection, Walking and Working Surfaces, Ladders and Scaffolding, Horizontal Directional Drilling Hazards, Heavy Equipment, Crane and Rigging Safety, Trenching Safety, Forklift Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, and Concrete and Mason ($498 tuition and $125 for book, must have 3 participants).                                        


Safety Technology - This 47 hour course provides instruction on how to implement and administer a safety program.  This course is designed for field managers, safety directors, safety committees, owner safety representatives, and insurance/loss control representatives. Topics to be covered: Safety Technology, Hazard Recognition, Evaluation and Control, Risk Analysis and Assessment, Inspections, Audits, Employee Motivation, Site-Specific ES&H Plans, Emergency Action Plans, JSAS and TSAS, Safety Orientation and Training, Work Permit Policies, Confined Space Entry Procedures, Accident Investigation, Data Analysis, Recordkeeping, OSHA Inspections and Procedures, ES&H Data Tracking and Trending, and Environmental Awareness ($498 tuition and $125 for book, must have 3 participants).
